the dnr just fertilized some of the ponds i fish, the water is green , u cant see anything, any advice? i have caught a few on my cranks, just throming alomg drop offs  and parralleling the shore. i would like some advice on worming,my elbows cant take much more cranking.

Don't know if I can answer your question,but whenever my lake is fertilized the bass just quit.Oh, you may catch the odd fish here and there but the bites are few and far between.I'm no biologist and certainly no pro,so I'm wondering myself what's up.Maybe some of our more experienced posters can shed some light on this topic.

Most people dont catch fish when the lake turns green from algee bloom. I can in in a couple lakes and I just flip a black/brown/amber jig with a green pimpkin trailer. Or crank the deep brush.

Other lakes i dont know as well harder to catch fish.

Nick go to a more powerful reel you wont get worn out cranking.

u say throw the frog on top of the grass,do u mean up shallow by the bank,,and then reel out away from it.i had picked up a couple of scum frogs earlier this year i was just waiting on the right time to break them out. u shoul have seen the snake that got in my boat at fox,scared me to death

Try  useing a bight or a dark  spinner bate. Or a bright or a dark blade bate They seem to work for me.

Hip, That's funny. I had a snake chase my boat around in circles the other day. I had to kick it into high to get away. Yea up shallow. Keep your rod tip high and start reeling before the frog hits the water so it won't sink into the grass. Stuff your Scum Frogs with small pieces of worm to give them some weight and make your casts longer.
