Fishing after hurricanes and storms.....

Featured Replies

Anyone think it's a waste of time. Here in Georgia it there has been alot of rain from hurricane Dennis. All of the ponds and creeks are muddie and overflowing. You guy's think fish are feeding in muddie waters?

I don't like fishing after a storm.

I DO love it a few hours before it arrives and during it (as long as you are safe). Got to love the fast dropping barometer

I'm kinda with you on what your saying, If I were to go though would it be all about a noise making lure or  bright colors? I guess I'm trying to convince myself I can catch bass in muddie water. Man I have the Bass fever! ;D

I am from the belief that you can catch bass ALL THE TIME. I can't remember the last time I got skunked.

You'll have to adjust your fishing just as you said. Make a lot of noise.

In muddy waters, I like to throw a heavy jig (with a rattle) to really bang the bottom. Especially after the heavy rains.

Hey thanks for tip! I appreciate it very much.

I'm facing this very situation tonight here in illinois....We have a tourney that starts at 5:30 and goes till 9:15....The rain started last night late and its still raining very lightly...I think it could be a awesome 3 hour tourney...I'm sure our water won't be saturated with mud just yet...So I will

fish the areas that I normally do, but instead of skipping under docks I'll work between them a little more than I normally would...I think a violent Jig presentation is in order..

in muddy and stained water use a dark or black lure...the outline/profile is more easily seen.  you are right on with the noise making lures too!
