Hey everyone, it's me again.  Got a little tidbit of advice I would like to share with all of ya.  Actually, more for those who fish HIGHLY FLUCTUATING LAKES.  Here's what I do:  Whenever the lake (or whatever body of water you're fishing) is low, bring a camera!  Digital, disposable, Polaroid, whatever.  Bring that camera, and take some snapshots of your favorite fishin' holes when the water is low.  Then, when the water level rises again, pull out your pictures, and you will have a great visual of what kind of underwater structure, ledges, channels, you will be dealing with.  Try it sometime!  It really works!  Tight Lines, fellas!

that's a great idea! i fish a lake that looks like a jungle when the water is down and you can't see any of it when the water's up. i'll give that a try.

Another thing you can do when the lake is low and it's winter time is go looking for baits that got snagged in the brush piles.  I have found several crank baits, jigs and spinner baits that I have been able to recondition and use again.  Sorta like a treasure hunt

Wow, Shad_Master!  I thought I was the only one who did that!  Now I don't feel so weird about it.  We also used to tie huge magnets onto our lines when the lake is super low and drag them across the bottom.  You'd be surprised what you come up with!  

You should also take a hand held GPS out with you and get out on the bank and mark the structure. I spend hours and hours every winter walking miles of shore line with my GPS in one hand, my map in the other and a box in my backpack to put all the lures I find in.
