Just wondering what you all thought....I've been using 5" Senkos for largemouth & smallmouth and having some success. I will always insert a rattle into the bottom to attract the bass with noise. When I fished a few days ago I decided that maybe the inserted rattle was altering the way a Senko moves through the water. So I went without the rattle and about 20 minutes later, I caught a 4-5lb bass. I'd like to know others ideas on if they think adding a rattle to a Senko alters the way it was designed to move.

I don't know, all I can do is guess. A 5" Senko weighs approximately 3/8 oz. The little worm rattles that I own (and never use) seem weightless for all practical purposes. It's hard to imagine them altering the movement of such a heavy lure. If they do alter it, I would think the change is so tiny that it would have no effect on the fishing.

I think you caught that 4-5# bass because the lure was in the right place at the right time, not because of the presence or absence of the rattle.

Again, that's just my speculation.

I wouldn't mess with a Rattle. It can only take away from the movement.
