ok heres my problem. i have a plano spinnerbait box filled with spinnerbaits. i have probably close to 30 in it. but heres the problem. when i open it to pick out a spinnerbait i have no idea which one to pick. how do you guys pick out a spinnerbait to tie on. what determines which color you tie on, and what determines what blade type you use?

If your on clear water , use a smaller white willow leaf spinner . if stained or dirty use a chartruese spinner with colorado blades .this has b een working for me.

Just my opinion, but I think 30 is too many if you're a recreational fisherman. With the infinite number of combinations of blade colors, size, number and configuration, along with skirt color, spinnerbait selection is made out to be much more complicated than it needs to.

In super clear water I use something that looks like a baitfish in baitfish colors. In simi clear to stained water I use white or charteuse/white skirts. In dark or muddy water I use black or chartreuse, black/bright orange. Blades are up to you. In clear water I use willow blades and indianna blades alot. In stained water I use colo and Indi blades. In muddy I use colorado single blade or a indi. In clear water to stained water colored blades work. I never use silver blades always gold. <~this is just me and how I fish not saying there is anything wrong with silver blades.

I'm fishing clear water with lots of grass and wood.I  use a small(1/4) spinnerbait most of the time because of the clear water.I'll start with white and go to chartruse if they don't want white.Tandem blades(willow leaf w/ a smaller Colorado):Gold willowleaf w/ nickel Colorado.A little red (bleeding bait series) seems to improve things.In bright sun,I go with a fast retrieve and slow down in lowlight.
