I was just wondering how many of you guys out there encounter this problem. I fish alot in Mchigan and it seems like they are always spraying the lakes for weeds. There seems to be no end to this. I was wondering if you guys do encounter this problem what do you do? Sometimes you can't change lakes because of a tournament. I usually try to find remaining healthy weeds or pull off alittle. What works for you?

I haven't come across it nearly as much as some of the other anglers have.  I have came across it a couple of times, and I have changed up patterns completely.

In the summer, when I have come across this, I have just moved to the nearest channel, and fished there, and I have had great success doing that.

No weed spraying that I know of in Iowa. The ding-dongs at the DNR think it is better to bring in grass carp!  :

Unfortunately I think the reason they do it to many of the Michigan lakes is for the pleasure boaters. You can tell its hurt some of the bass populations even though the DNR says it doesn't. My question is for them is how can they post warning saying it is dangerous for us but not the fish. All the signs say don't use the water.

When weeds are growing and are green they produce oxygen and when they die they consume oxygen. Fish move away from areas that have less oxygen and the decaying plants also change the alkalinity of the water and make it more acidic. Fish move to areas that have more disolved oxygen and places less acidic.
