Rain effects on warming water???

Featured Replies

We had rain in the morning till about 1pm was about 60 and now the sun is out and it's about 65, 68 I'm curious does warm rain speed up the process of warming the lakes and ponds. I would think so. Rain being warmer then lake temp just curious the warmer the better ;D still cold up northeast  this way

I think it just warms up the water and a little bit quicker then just the heat of the day trying to warm it up but the rain water only penetrates(spelling???) so far so I dont think it heats up deeper parts of the lake

yeah, i am pretty sure that rain only effects the surface temps.  Doesn't seem possible to have any effect on deeper water and probably not that big of a difference even on surface temps.  I guess a smaller body could be effected greater by this but unless you get a significant rainfall...inches...I don't think it will do a whole lot.
