Do Peacock bass chase off or supplant Largemouth?

Featured Replies

I'm watching a fishing show right now, and they're catching Peacocks in what looks like should be Largemouth waters, using Largemouth lures.  Have they chased off all the largemouth bass down there?  Are they a problem?

I've never fished a spot that had Peacocks and no LM. This fish gets very aggresive during the hot summer months and likes the sun beating down. This time of year is a problem for anything that moves around peacocks. They really like top water baits that are worked hard. If you ever get a chance to fight a peacock don't pass it up, the fight is insane  :o. Unfortunatly for most bass fisherman, they only live in South Fla and South America.
