I agree with Cajun. Rain normally turns on the topwater bite in my experience. Cools down the water on the surface, re-oxygenates it, and knocks bugs in the water. Basically rings the dinner bell.

normally i would but we've had an enormous amount of rain in MD. there have been evacuations and flooding in several areas. if the weather is decent this weekend i'll hit the water.
