so we just had a huge rain storm...  The temp has been mid to high 90's for about 3 days and last night it rained  pretty much all night...  now today it is down to 76..  The question i am asking is will these be better fishing bringing the water temp down and bringin the fish into shallow cover...  or is it just going to mess up the fishing because of the presure in the lake due to the rain?

Why are you on this message board instead of on the water?  Get out there and tell us about all the hawgs you pulled in later!!    

Yes, I'd be on the water. Fresh, cooler, off-colored water coming into the lake dragging all kinds of little creatures with it that fish love to feed on.  A good all night soaker can mean great fishing the next day.

It should be a lot better. You can probably kill them on topwaters.

We had a day-and-a-half of rain about two weeks ago -- first decent rain in more than 6 months.  Just as it was ending I pulled up to the lake (bank fishing) and there was noone in sight -- caught 18 basses in about an hour with the smallest being about 12" and the best three being a 15", a 16.5" and a 17.5".  Never moved from my initial spot.  Rain is your friend, brother.

well i got shut out had alot of hits a few huge hits but as soon as it started coming i let it drop and it just turned away but it seemed like it was out of there mouth befor i could even think about setting the hook.... i was using a 5 1/2'' baby slug texas rig and a #3 mepps..  with teh slug just twitching it over the weeds and letting it drop in the holes and could usualy see the fish playing with it when i let it drop at the start of teh weeds
