ok im goin to manasquan res. tomorrow and from what i see and everyone tells me like 1/2 the lake is surounded by standing timber up to like 50 yards from shore.  the lake has large and smallies and hybrids. what is the best technique to use workin in standing timber. i was gonna use my fat ika again and worms, would crankbaits or spinnerbaits be a good idea in here.  any advise apreceated im lookin to catch a PB tomaro lol.

Stump bumpin with a shallow crank with a square bill would probably do the trick. The key would be to bump the crank into the cover. When you feel the crank hit the stump, let it sit for a second. This is when you will normally get bit, after the "bump".......otherwise, i would be pitchin & flippin those trees! Good luck TOMORROW.  ;D
