Microsoft Streets & Trips

Featured Replies

I use Microsoft Streets & Trips (2005) for mapping out boat ramps and fishing spots. Anyone else on here use it?

If so, I can shoot over a saved map file of boat ramps for South & Central Florida. Of course its not all of them, but it continually grows.

I would love to see someone else have something like these so I can add to the collection.

Hale:

I have that same program. I would love to see your map of all of the ramps. My ramps or lakes I have maps saved for are mostly northern Florida lakes as I am new to this central/south area.

My email is keithscatch@cfl.rr.com

Ill shoot that over this afternoon. I think youll be pleased and very busy should you ever try to hit em all.

George, Ive been to that link and many others. It drives me crazy that there is not one resource for all the ramps in a particular area. But its impossible thinking to belive I would ever find a site that had all the ramps in a particular area.

Check out this link: http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/sfoo/rec/boatfish.htm It seems to be the best I have found yet as this guy has taken paictures and given GPS coords to exactly where it is.

Hale,

I Look forward to it. I doubt I will do much fishing to far south though. That site link you provided seems to be specific to lake Okeechobee? I went there and that was really the only thing the site talked about. Not sure I will fish that lake or not? Maybe someday.

That link George gave I have seen before also. It is in my favorites already. But it is very incomplete as for example in Brevard county it only shows 2 boat ramps. Pretty hilarious to think there are only 2 boat ramps in all of Brevard County. In Indian River County it only shows 2 as well. So a map like yours is much appreciated.

Thanks.

That is a great idea. I will have to start doing that myself. I have been having a hard time finding boat ramps here in Virginia Beach. Not to mention maps of the local lakes. This way I can make my own. Thanks for the idea!

alwayslearning,

I dont know if you use this program already but if you dont you should look into getting the one with GPS (it will come with a USB GPS). Its so nice to have for any type of mapping (driving, fishing, exploring, etc). Their maps are up there at being the most complete and detailed outside of specialty mapping (fishing, topos, etc).

This may be of little help, but I live in Pa, and the Pa fish and game commission has put together a map of the entire state with all the river launch ramps, lakes, lake launches, etc.. Just about anywhere you would or could put a boat is on the map. They make one for the whole state, and I also have one that is narrowed to my county, and the surrounding counties. The only problem is that I have found a few lakes/larger ponds that are not included on the map. Check to see if Florida has a similar map set. But then again Florida has a whole bunch of water.

This might help some:

FWC will list ramps that are either public maintained (City / County) or maintained by FWC. Even then directiosn are vague and difficult to find if you havent been to them. But there is a lot of sites here in Florida that list random ramps, epeciallly local clubs giving directions to the next tourney.

The map that I maintain for myself has ramps listed that I have visited (there is a couple that I havent but friends have and Ive seen pics).  Nothing like traveling three hours to pull into a ramp that is best suited for an ATV or yor in fear all day that someone is going to steal/vandalize your truck.

Good point Chris. Yours looks good. If you want some from me for more northern waters I will add them to it and resend it to you later.

Thanks again.
