Cold fronts and the effects it has on the spawn??

Featured Replies

Hey you all,

I don't know if this was covered or not, if it has I'm sorry, and if you could link me ;)

Basically my question is does the spawn pros pone when a cold front comes in and cools everything down. What I mean do they(male and Female) leave the nest to deeper waters?? I'm having a hard time locating these bass :-?. This a hard time in the year(atleast for me). the transition from winter to spring hear in California the weather is so unpredictable :(.

Nasty fronts can and usually does, pull them back out off the flats/creeks. So yes.

Just back out to the nearest breakline (depth change), ditch, creek channel that is near.    They won't be far away from the bedding areas.

A real nasty cold front can cause "SHRINKAGE" and really put a dent in the spawning ritual!

I guess you could also reference the ROD SIZE thread here also
