Weather Shift

As most people know, there has been a crazy 40 degree temp drop this last week.   >:(

As it was 85 degrees, the warm weather got to my head, so I picked up a spinnerbait(which I hate to use) and caught fish all day long.  Next few days, it was in the 40's, which made me throw think that I needed to slow down and throw a little grub and fish it slow.

But here's the question.  Can a few days of warmer weather really change the water temperature that much?  Or is is all just in our head?

Danke

The cold froent defenatly gave the bass lockjaw around here. We where slamming them one day, and the next 3 cold ones we never got a bite. The small ponds I fish react to the air temp faster then multi-thousand acre lakes, so the bass may have responded differently. Its going to be in the 50s tomorrow, and I'm going out for most of the day.

Good point BM,  I never thought about it having a greater affect on smaller bodies of water.  But still, I think that the colder weather affected my fishing at least a little.

Oh heck, I don't know....Let me go ask the fish..... ;)

dont forget that the fronts bring barometric pressure changes...i think this has more effect on the bass than the quick change in air temp, though it also depends on the amount of water, but bass are very sensitive to pressure changes

Timmy, I actually thought of that myself right before I read you post.  But sorry guys, I asked the fish and both of you are wrong.  He said everything down there was fine.  But he did say that he stayed inside that day watching American Idol.  Who would have thought that?  I guess you learn something new every day. ::)
