suggestions for newer members

Featured Replies

It's great to see the explosion of new members.

But if I may, I'd like to make a few comments that I think will be helpful, and add to the enjoyment for all.

1. Put your location in your sig line.   Alot of newbies ask questions, but quickly knowing that you are from West Texas for example will get you better responses.

2. Try to stay on topic.  If you see a post in a thread that you want to take in a different direction than the original post, start a new thread.  It will be less confusing, won't upset the original poster, and you will get more and better replies.

3. Read the articles.  There are some great ones that cover virtually every topic.  Posting comments related to the articles have stimulated some great discussions.

4. Use the PM feature.  The forums are intended for all to participate in.  If you want to ask Joe when he is going to lake xyz, and get into a conversation with him, the pm'ing is great.  You'll make friends using the pm feature.

Thanks for reading.

Good luck and have fun.
