Schooling Bass and One On a Stringer

Featured Replies

I caught a bass and let him swim for a minute while I got my gut hook tools ready.  When I turned around there were 12 bass in sight of the boat.  As long as I left the one hooked up the others stayed close.  Is it possible to catch any of these others with one still out?

maybe that was a tad sarcastic....   sorry, rough day    I have caught 3 or 4 fish out of a school, so as long as you got a second pole you could definately catch more out of those fish.  Just watch for tangles.

I know that is done quite a bit off shore fishing for mahi. Get one out of the school hooked and leave him up in the prop wash and throw out some lite lines and you can easily catch half a school that way. That would be cool if it worked the same on a school of bass ;D

a tube bait or a grub are perfect for those situations
