Dig a Lake?

Featured Replies

Like to make a lake on my property, but, I was wondering if anyone knew of a sight that helped in doing this :-? What would be a good design to hold fish Bass, Crappie or Catfish

I know for the most part if you wanna swim in the lake it has to be debree free, if you want it to hold fish then you need some cover for them. 8-) I would like it to hold fish. I have an old cattle pond right now that holds some biggen frogs, want to add to it.

I have room for a acre lake, could go 2.

Seen a single axle dump truck for $1900.00 down the street today that made me remember on doing all this. could sell the dirt :-? or if I knew who wanted dirt I'd let them have it for free ;D

This is definitely a question for your state's dept. of conservation. In Illinois, for example, they'll study your land and  tell you how large a lake your watershed could support. They'll show you the best location for a dam, and even help you get it stocked. And the consult is free.
