Need help with knowing what to use

Featured Replies

I live in Southern Florida and we are going up north again to this great bass spot where they are jumping around everywhere, problem is we cant catch them ,and we know they bite because we see other fisher men catching the largemouth, we have tried poppers and buzz baits and plastic frogs any  suggestions?

1.  Ask the local tackle shop what to throw and the technique to use.

2.  Ask the other fishermen what to throw and the technique to use.

3.  Go to the web and try to locate your body of water to see if there are any suggestions.

4.  Check the state's Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to see if they have a web post or article on the body of water and how to fish it.

5.  Go out and fish the body of water with various baits.

6.  Use crankbaits and spinnerbaits to locate the fish.

7.  Use Senkos to try to catch them, too.

8.  Use the lures you have the most confidence.

9.  Read the hints section posted at the top of the forum.

Good luck.

Sam gave you some great advice.

What state is the "Great Bass Spot" in if you don't mind me asking? If it's in Florida the Ol' Bass Professor has some great "Snakes" that work real well on big bass around here.

Where is "up north"; north Florida.....???

Dan

Are you sure they are largemouth?

"Jumping all over the place" is something trout fisherman see when the nymphs are hatching and the fish are racing to the surface to eat them before they fly off.

Inshore fisherman see mullet jumping all over the place because.....well nobody knows why but they do.

Smallies are famous jumpers, and If your goin  Up NAWTH. I'll bet it's smallies your seeing.

try a 1/8 th oz, lead head jig with a twister tail, or a roadrunner.   If it's smallmouth you'll know.

If the largemouth are so active that they are "jumping all over" I can't imagine them not hitting poppers.
