What do you guys think about.....

Featured Replies

This is just an idea and I hope I am not violating any forum guidelines.  If so please feel free to end the thread immediately and I will respect that decision.  If this is in the wrong spot please also feel free to put it where you deem necessary.

There seem to be a lot of people on here who make their own hard baits and tie their own jigs.  I have no experience with either but would be very interested in possibly trying out a few of their end products.  Could we possibly have another topic much like the "Flea Market" thread but where the only items listed must be handmade?  I bet it would get a good response.  I know I would love to see it.  You might find that you could buy a better quality product from some of these guys on here for a cheaper price than what you would spend at a retailer for garbage.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are blessed to have so many talented lure makers on this forum. Under the current rules we don't allow any free advertising but if you see some-one's work that you really like feel free to send that member a Personal Message to them and see what happens. I have done this several times and I have never been disappointed.

You can also look at the person's post and those that have websites will have a WWW button at the bottom of each post. You can click on that and see if the website is one that sells their baits.

Understood.  I guess I was not thinking of it as a busines to advertise.  I picture a guy in his little workshop out back tinkering when the weather is too nasty to be on the water.  So maybe I underestimated the scale of how many people actually make their own and how it could be more than a hobby for some people.  Oh well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
