It will be my first time out this year. Not sure if there will be even a thawed spot to fish. But I'm going to make the 15 minute trip to find out. Temp outside will be around 40. If I do find some open water what would you recommend? Especially if there is only a little bit of un-iced water. Might not be worth going but I really just want to get a line wet.

If anything I can at least practice my new baitcasters.
