hummingbird smartcast wrist mount

Featured Replies

hey guys...im just curious if any of you know anything about the humming bird RF35 advanced wrist mount?....i just scored the new bass pro shops fishing catalog and discovered it....says it has a 75 foot operating range...i fish the bank but it looks like you can drop the little sonar deal out in front of you and your able to see whats going on?.....i am probaly wrong as always :).....anyways hell....for 100 bones if the thing works im there.......hope to hear from you guys.....cool...thanks....

I have the original model. If you PM me your address I will send it to you free. It was worthless to me when I bank fished, now I have a boat with an Eagle 320C, so it is even more worthless. I don't know what I did with the little reciever thingie. Worst case scenario, you spend 20$ for the reciever, 5$ for batts., wind up wasting the same afternoon I did with it.

that is a pretty neat device, i wonder if anyone has gotten this thing to work.  sounds like something fun for us shore fisherman

I got one not too long ago and have given it a few trys.(got it for i think 50 or 60 dollars on sale) It shows depth really well and gives the same depth changes and things each time i cast and reel in which shows that it is at least consistent. It confuses structure and fish sometimes but showing structure is almost as good as showing fish.  Also from what i can tell the depths are correct(from maps) but no way to really tell unless i take a swim. I am happy with it and hopefully once it warms up more and fish are closer to shore i can see how well it does show fish.

Since i have no boat i can only shore fish so its a neat little gadget. So far i am happy with it but time will tell if i really like it.

Mike

I have never used one but I have worked in the outdoor retail business for about 2 years and I have only seen one smartcast of any model returned out of 100+ sold.  So it must be good if people are keeping them.  People say they like them.
