A kids excitement-inspiring

Featured Replies

Check out THESE KIDS, right on!!

This one came from Gods' Country in Abilene, Texas. Jennifer Farrar and her group from the Betty Hardwick Center do a wonderful job each year at Lake Fort Phantom. The smiles say it all. Thank you all for being Special Thrill Makers!

So help me spread the word and if you think you or someone you may know would be interested in changing a couple hundred lives one weekend,...let me know and we'll make it happen, as a team.

That's sweet!  A guy from work and I were just talkng Thursday about the news.  Now days it has to be about murder, gangs, robbery, whitecollar crime, whatever.  It seems most of the time the media forget the good stuff to spread the word about.  That's the type of news, I believe, most of us would rather see and read about.

Kids need that kind of constructive activity in their lives.  And kudos to the "big kids" for making it happen. :)

FF15- The Providence Fire Dept is a huge help here at our event in Providence.  They even bring the canteen truck down to cook and serve all the food from.  In fact, many dept's around the country help out at various events.  You guys are awesome.

Russ, is there a way to get a sticker for a truck/boat or a patch for a tournament shirt for Cast for Kids?  I'd like to get more involved, especially when seeing stuff like that but I'm about to be swamped for a long, long time.  (rookie school)  I figure that I can at least help advertise.

Looks like they had a fun time, 19 fish?  :o. Just about all of my family live in Abilene and most of them live about 3 minutes from Phantom, im going down there on my birthday in 2 weeks maybe i can catch 19 fish. How many times do they go out to Phantom a year LBH?

Just watching that kinda got the gears grinding.  It's too late for me this year, but I thinkthrough the rest of the season and winter I'm gonna see if there's something we can do around here.

Cool!  I just added their web site to my favorites, so when I get on this I have a reference.  There probably will come a time when I take you up on that LBH.  Thanks.

Great stuff LBH,

Hey Big O, Strike King hooked us up here in Providence the 1st yr.  Chris Brown sent us a few cases of goodies, included bags that we used for the grab bags too.  Soft plastics, spinner baits, etc etc, The stuff was a huge hit with the kids, especially the mini-kings, they produced a few fish that day.  Very cool

I sure would like to get them on board with us nationally.  Partnerships with CAST are a win/win on both sides every time, ....any suggestions?

Will see Chris at the ICAST mid July and will mention it to him. Have you contacted him by chance?

that is awesome! it was cool listening to the kids about their big catches and how hard they reeled to get them in. I know fishing made a big difference in my life when I was a kid and I'd like to make that happen for others. my nephew's moving back to colorado at the moment so I plan to do that with him.

I'd really like to get involved on a larger scale and do something for kids around here, though. not sure I know how to go about that, though...any tips?

thanks for posting this - it is great!
