when serching for bed, i know that bass need a hard bottom to spawn but does it matter the depth. Are all the beds going to shallow or will some be deeper.

Many of them will be deeper but it depends on the clarity of the water. If seen beds so shallow that the back of the fish were out of the water and I've seen them over 16ft deep in very clear water.

Just like Fluke said, it depends on the water clarity. Out here in CA the waters are normally very clear. I've seen bass on beds in 20+ feet as well as water so shallow I was surprised to see them there

Depends on water clarity and the position of the sun so the eggs will get the proper incubation.
