Any tips for fishing deep, clear, lakes.

Featured Replies

I fish a couple of deep, clear lakes here in florida, that used to be phosphorous mining pits. There about 75 acres, and range from 8 to 40 ft. of  water. There is also an abundance of hydrilla and other grasses. Any tips on what to use. Thanks

i fish one in north florida, called kingsley. i find the acual grass lines, and either drop shot, through a trap and let it sink and rip it through the grass or toss a senco, if over about 12 ft deep I put a nail in it. I know people also toss suspending jerk baits like the x-rap, I never had much luck on it. Also a simple texas rig with a 3/16 oz weight and a red shad or Junebug Blue curly tail work very well.
