MY VERY COOL LAST BASSMASTER CLASSIC EXPERIENCE

Featured Replies

So my crew and I are down in Alabama a few years ago working at the Bass Masters Classic Show. . The place is packed-people everywhere-having a very productive show. Saturday afternoon four of my staff and I are at our booth and I look up and see this guy checking out the product on the table. He looks at me and I look at him-he was a long haired hippie type. I sad Holy $hFG what the heck are you doing here-He said what the F*&^ are you doing here. My guys are saying who the heck is this guy. This happened to be a buddy of mine I haven't seen in 12-14 years. He lived in my home town and we all knew each other and friends ect. Well after the man hug he says" yea Mark said ya got into the tackle business-then I asked him what he was doing there . He said he was the piano tech for Billy Joel for the last 10 years and they were on tour down there. I said holy crap- he asked when we were going home and he would like me and my guys to to to the concert. I said we are leaving Sunday night after the classic. He said bummer you wont be able to make the concert. .We hung for a while  talking  and stuff and he gave me his cell number and said keep in touch. Meanwhile Sunday comes and there is a huge ice storm in NJ -all flights are cancelled - I look at my helper Hiawatha and said let me give Jerry a call. I call him and said DUDES Meet me at 630 at the Birmingham Arena- 630 comes and he takes us all back stage- unfreakin believable-i got to tap a few keys on the piano-I cant play it but it was cool. We hung there meeting everyone then right before the show starts he brings me and my guys to 3 rd row center. What a cool way to end a classic show-2 classic shows in one weekend. Very good time . Thanks for the ear. Thank you again Jerry -It was a chance of a life time.
