Ice Angling Bass - I need information

Featured Replies

Hello firends,

I am new on the forum. I am looking for the information about ice angling bass under ice. Do you know interesting articles on this topic?

Best Regards

the bass don't move much, so you have to pretty much drop the bait right in front of them.  Deep water is best.  If you have pickerel, they stay active under the ice and are easier and more fun to catch.  I use either live monnows on a tip up, or some type of jig (kastmaster or similar) witha piece of worm or mousie in the hook.

Up here, we catch them pretty well during first-ice on small chrome/blue-back jigging rapalas. If you're on a good patch of bluegill starting jigging your rap.

It's been my experience, atleast in the past couple years, that first-ice mornings have been the most productive. You'll have trips where they just plain Smash it.
