How would u fish my canal?

I moved into a new house with a canal behind and was wondering if i could get some tips. I've used some gobys i catch as bait and have had a little luck. 3 bass and a pike. The deepest it gets is like 13 feet but it is mainly 8-10. water temp right now is about 68. lot of bluegills and perch and gobys too so no shortage of baitfish. ive also caught a bass in some dudes little boat lot. I have a kayak i can go up and down in but i havnt caught any bass. across the canal from me is like an area of really shallow water(less than a foot) that is about 30 yards length wise and goes back about 15.

Also this canal is connected to lake st. clair in michigan.
