went fishing a while this morning and found a lot of shad schools the bass would hit the bait on top some but we marked up several bass following bait we were in 20' to 25' of water but the bait and bass were suspended in 7' to 15' we tried topwater swimbaits spinnerbaits crankbaits and lipless cranks but no luck anyone have any tips or suggestions that may help

try using flukes on a weighted hook.

Did you allow your baits freefall through the shad ?

Look up tying the double fluke rig & count it down into the school before starting a retrieve with short quick snaps of the rodtip held low to the water.
