Here's the facts upfront what happens in a winterkill during a nasty winter when the ice and snow cover is on for a longtime. I've heard from ice fisherman in the past talking about seeing bigger bass frozen in the ice during a winterkill.

I think its mother nature taking care of the over population of fish.
