try using a strike king rage tail the frog looking kind. trim the body of it so its not as thick that way you get a real good hook set if you dont trim the body to make it skinny the hook gap is alot smaller and although you may still catch fish its not going to be a real good hook and they have an easier time spitting it. ive learned this from experience.

ive personally caught monsters with this its something that most bass have never seen so when fishing a popular lake like champlain and your flipping docks that everyone flips or pitching holes the bass have seen most presentations however that big rage tail throws ALOT of action and it drives big bass WILD!!! let me know how you make out.
