Deps Buzzjet Question

Featured Replies

I got the big buzzjet model in frog color.  Now when I've tried this lure out, it doesn't seem to run straight.  It sometimes dives to the side or it seems to not have any action.  I've tried a slow retrieve & medium & fast, it does what I've said w/ the weird swimming.  Is this how the lure's suppose to work?  On the video about the lure on ***, it sure doesn't seem to be doing that.  What am I doing wrong, or how can I correct this?

What I have found with this lure, like a lot of Japanese baits,is that it is kinda weird and different. It is made with a very wide wobble it also has a lot of roll. You must retrieve it very slowly and deliberately with the rod up to make it wake the surface. It isn't much for burning. You can fish it with short rips or also lower your rod tip down and crank it just under the surface, but slowly too.

You ever have a really fat wide wobble crankbait? Some of them are made to run slow to moderate retrieve only.Any faster and it will flop one way or the other.

Double check to make sure it is tuned correctly.(yeah I know you shouldn't have to on a premium bait) It is already a pretty unstable bait as it is since it has such an exaggerated wobble.I imagine if it is out of tune it would be quite worthless.

Also check to make sure the prop spins very freely and effortless. If that is out of whack I am sure it could cause problems too.

All in all it is a great lure, but very different. When I threw it the first couple times I said man this is junk! Then I learned how to use it.I don't have nor have ever use any other bait that works quite like this one.It produces some very violent strikes.

Now if someone could help me with the Jackall Giron.I keep hearing how great that bait is but all mine does is flop around on its sides and runs like a complete P.O.S. with no action whatsoever :;)
