I havn't been fishing much. I've tried jerkbaits, jigs, and other things, can't even buy a bite now. I am fishing a large crick. They've seemed to just dissapear. Any advice on where to find them would help, thanks!

i fish creeks alot and the smallies up here actually burry them selves into the mud and rocks on the creek  but not all smallies will hibernate  try fishing the deepest holes that u can possible find  also fish around bolders   more bolders u fish around in one area the better the chance of catching one. its very difficult to find active fish and the active fish are going to be very spread out  cover as much water as possible try super finess techiques but dont repeat cast unless u get bit  good luck man if u try it again  i went out from the 26-29 and got one bite the entire time on a creek

id try some minnows, if you catch a few, try the areas with tubes, a jacks worm by case.

Have you tried different sections of the creek? In the few rivers around here the smallies will move from pool to pool depending on their seasonal patterns and temperatures. And since you have not been fishing there in a while they could have moved on you. I have had it happened to me a few times. One day you whack 15 or 20 2-3 pound smallies, next day they are gone. I think you are just gonna have to figure out which section of that creek they are in.

It would be hard for them to move because of the geographic layout of the area. Wow , confused myself. The crick is to low for them to move up, there is one deep hole in the middle, I figured they would be in there, but they're not.

yea thats tough   its hard getting creek smallies to bite this time of the year       but it is a good time of year to restock on your favorite baits clean reels and reorganize your baits lol     yea i feel your pain  i cant wait to get back out and fish creeks

If fishing were easy, everyone would be doing it! (I heard that somewhere before?  ) Anyway, you didn't say how "large" this creek was? But assuming some sections have some depth (>10') I'd find the deepest holes and try a 1/4 oz. blade blade bait barely lifting it off the bottom - until you just begin to feel the vibes - with 15 - 30 sec. pauses inbetween. You can also bottom drift a 3" - 4" Senko into these holes. If there are fish there, one or both presentations will get you bit.

The crick is not quite that deep. Senkos are the only thing we use in the summer. It's to late now anyhow, theres 3 inches of ice covering the entire crick! Come on spring, where are ya?
