Hey St C they are catching sauger and small walleye at Pike Island dam most of them are using a twist tail grub on a jig. Where are you heading?

Day one, we launched from shady side hit up a few usual spots and warm water spouts where water temp was around 53Degrees pulled in 4 smallies all day.

Day 2 went above the d**n and hit a hole of smallies in about 8 ft under some heavy rock cover in about 44degree water. Caught about 5 a piece out of that hole in about 2 hours and moved 2 a few other spots without any luck. I would of had pics but my phone took a nice dive into the water on day 1.

With the winds today well yesterday the water was so choppy and putting out about 3 ft waves.

Overall fun trip cant wait for the Wednesday night tourneys to start and

Sounds like you did very well without anyone's advice. I assume on the second day you put in at Rayland? That area is surprisingly good for smallmouth. My choice would have been from Powhaton south with all of those big creeks to fish near and you have the power plants also. I am not second guessing you , you did just fine where you were.
