Luck E Strike Trickster Spinnerbait

Featured Replies

Anyone else ever used these Rick Clunn designed Spinnrbaits with success?

I used a 1/8 ounce model yesterday for the first time. first 3 casts I ended up boating 3 fish. The Trailer hook played no part in these catches, they hit the main hook. Throwing light baits like that really wore me out though.Pictured is the largest of the 4 fish I boated on this spinnerbait.

I picked one up a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Were you fishing them just below the surface creating a bulge, or were you letting them sink and then retrieving?

I didnt see a bulge while I was retrieving so I think I was about 6-12 inches under the surface. At times I did wake the bait(create a bulge) but that wasnt entirely intentional,it just happened. I just cast it out and retrieved it,no pauses, and most of the 4 fish hit just as I started making my retrieve. The largest one(pictured) hit it as it past him ,he was sitting against a rock cliff that went deep into the water, mustve been sunning himself.

Cool, thanks.

I was watching an episode of The Bass Pros a while back and RC was talking these spinnerbaits. He said he designed them to be used kinda like a wake bait, running just below the surface creating a bulge but not breaking the surface.
