Caught My first Smallmouth yesterday. Fishing in a kayak, with family in tow so I could not stop.

Fishing with Ultra-light rod, 4lb test, Rapala lure, original minnow 1.5 inch, blue color.

Fish was about 2 lb, about 14 inches, it was a hell of a fighter. Absolutely the best fighter I have ever encountered, jumped right after I set the hook, took two to three minutes to reel him in from 20 feet away. Awesome experience, now I know why everyone gets hooked on the smallmouth fight.
