that's genius i love it now for the d**n ice to melt and smallies to start there run

All good suggestions...

Ike posted a finesse tube article on bass that includes weightless instructions.

I have to say I was messing around with a few methods. Stupid rig works well but the method posted by Bobby Megastrike is simple & effective. It involves using an external shakey head jig (t-rigged).

I need to field test it but it seems pretty darn good.

Anybody know where to buy some jigheads with the weed gaurd attached?

I'm an avid tube fisherman. Fish them for both LMB and SMB (on rocky Lake of the Woods)

When I want to avoid snags I use an EWG hook with an inside tube weight texposed. I prefer Yamamoto Tube weights as they are inexpensive (see Tackle Warehouse).

I usually use a 4 inch tube. Compared to smaller tubes a 4" tube is fatter at the head an less likely to snag in rocks. The inside tube weight also cuts down on snags.

I use jigs w/ weedguards some, just push the weedguard up through the tube first as you insert the jighead.

This is cool! Might have to give this a shot.  ;)
