I need help with hook sizes for certain plastics:

Baby Brush Hogs

3 1/2in Tubes

Zoom Finesse Worms

6in plastic lizard

Rage tail space monkey

yamamoto 5in grub

U Tail Worm

i just wanna know what size hooks are most commonly used. thanks

I think a good guideline is to use a hook with a gap at least double the diameter of the plastic. That way it has room to get through the plastic and into the fish's jaw.

I'd use a 3/0 or 4/0 with all of those baits for T rig or C rig.  

I'd also base the wire diameter of the hook to the line I was using.  If I'm using less than 12 lb  line I go to lighter wire hooks.  

I used to think smaller hooks were better.  Maybe for trout ;D

When it comes to puttin' keeper bites in the boat a bigger hook is better as long as it doesn't negatively affect the action of the bait or your ability to get a good hook set.
