Butt Seat Recommendations

Featured Replies

Whats the best/most comfortable butt seat/hydraulic seat system out there. I currently have swiveleze seats. None of them are hydraulic. They have the "larger" footprint and pole. I would like to add an adjustable butt seat to the front. What do you all recommend?

I would recommend one of the more "spendier" one's becuz based on experience, the 19.99 one's don't and aren't worth it! There is one with a "bowed" or curved backside to it that look's like it would be nice but they are 50.00 or so, but if it last's a couple year's it'll pay for 2 to 3 of the cheap one's!! Bass pro has a bunch of different one's too. Junebugman B)

+1. I have a pair of those for my Skeeter. They've been great. No issues with them at all. I bought Springfield brand telescoping posts for them from Cabela's, too.

When I got my boat (several years ago) I bought a decent hydraulic post and one of those combo butt seats/leaning pads. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't bother with the leaning pad, because it puts me several inches farther up on the bow. My trolling motor pedal doesn't line up easily and I'm uncomfortable being that much closer to the bow in any kind of a chop at all. I much prefer the raised sitting position, several inches farther back that the butt seat offers. I like how the butt seat takes some of the weight off my legs while I'm fishing and the leaning post doesn't. Really it's a matter of whatever you get comfortable with.
