Hey yall I am new on here and semi new to bass fishing. I have been doing a lot of reading and have been spending close to 9 hrs a day everyday for the last 2 weeks at local lakes. I am trying to learn to fish a jig ( as well as everything else). The only thing I have caught anything on at all has been a watermelon red plastic worm. I have tried every jig walmart has. blue/black, green, chartuse all 1/4 ounce. I have ben fishing everything from open water to llily pads. All the water I fish is heavily fished but there is still fish in there. I am using a 7' MF graphite rod with a 7.0-1 baitcaster with 20lb braided line and 10lb 2ft flourcarbon leader. I would appreciate any advice at all thanks.

Jig fishing can be so effective. It's really a bait that you can fish year-round. Just keep throwing it and eventually you will get one and your confidence will build from there. When I throw a jig, I might not catch as MANY fish as say a worm or spinnerbait, but the fish I catch on average will be about 1-2 pounds heavier.

Read a bunch of articles and you will learn a lot. The most important thing is to just keep fishing it. Jig fishing is probably the most difficult thing in bass fishing to learn, but the payoff is awesome!
