Chatter baits in spring???

Featured Replies

Does a chgatter bait work in the prespawn and spawn when the fish are up shallow.

im going fishing tomorrow and want to try this out.

HELP HELP HELP :'(

where are you going fishing?

I don't know about how well it works where you are from, but up here.  It is absolutely deadly in the pre-spwan.  I fish it just like a spinnerbait sometimes I will also use a lift rod tip...reel up slack...lift rod tip...reel up slack method back to the boat.

I did very well with a chatterbait last weekend in 61 degree water in a power palnt lake in TX. I fished it with a fast retrieve and it worked when nothing else did. I used a crawdad color Strike King Pure Poison.

Yeah, the Chatterbaits are dyn-o-mite in the spring for prespawn, spawn, and postspawning fish, and they work at pretty much whatever retrieve you decide is right.  The fish definitely haven't smartened up to this lure yet!

The prespawn/spawn period is when the Chatterbait got it's national attention being used to win in a tournament at "O" in Florida.

Chatterbaits are the best thing you could use around this time.  I live in ohio and last year during early spring i was killin em' with the chatterbait.  So i guess if its warm enough where you're at i would definetly recommend using them.
