We have tournament coming up and I have found a new slough I've been wanting to fish. I've fished it once with no luck. I was throwing a White Spinnerbait with Tandem Blades (Gold Willow & Silver Colorado). I also thew a frog near some grass and didn't get a strike.

This was a pond before the Lock & Dam was put in place and the river was flooded. After the flood, they owners broke the dam so the river would feed it. There has been big bass caught from it. The water averages 6-7ft and has cypress trees along the bank. The mouth and a little ways in the slough has grass but once you get past the old dam it's just cypress trees and underwater tops and such.

My question is, what is the best thing(s) to throw in here for big bass?

Flip/Pitch the trees and root systems with a beaver-style bait or the plastic of your choice.  Start in the shady side first.  My $.02.
