Watching The Professional Sport - Joga Bonito

Featured Replies

So...

I hate watching professional sports. Well, I have watched my fantasy football live stats update on many a Sunday afternoon, and even went to watch the games on Superbowl Sunday... Fantasy Football superbowl Sunday that is.

I have always been a person who loved to play sports, but hated to watch. But now my five year old has taken up, with great gusto, the sport that was far and away my favorite to play I am HOOKED!

And... I would contend that though this will fall on mostly deaf ears. And... Though I would acknowledge that most folks in this forum would not fit the profile of fans of this sport. I would contend that... with minimal exposure to the game and its merits that a high percentage of you would also be hooked on SOCCER, FUTBOL, FOOTY... The world's game.

This is a great time of the year to watch too... the Leagues are coming to the close of their seasons, and while positions at the top are closing there are some mighty races for the right to play in champions league next year, and some vicious battles to stay in the top leagues, and not be relegated to the "minor leagues".

Also, the playoffs for the Champions League are happening. The Champions League is a common League made up of the top teams from the Premier Leagues, and they are not just playing to win, they are playing to win big.

Here's your Primer:

Barcelona Team Goals This team is amazing.

Some Shocking Skills A nice Compilation of Skills

It's great that your kid is excited about competing. B)

Manchester United baby! Woot woot! :D

But watching the game across the pond is something else. The way they play is so awesome, one, two touch passing, bursts of speed, and killer strikes on the ball, I love watching matches when I can!

tomorrow is the one oscar! BARCA!!!

Do you know what channel they're on? I think an ad said FX, but I'm pretty sure we don't get that channel in the dorms. It's not coming up on ESPN3 either. I can stream it online elsewhere, but I'd rather watch it on tv of course.

Henry, the 5 year old, is also developing an English accent from watching so many premier league games. I don't know which is funnier, listening to him say haaftime, or Vince's reaction to it.

Plus, the kid has his own signature moves, he got by me last week.

MESSI!!!

Oscar, I'm sure you know by now it was FX. It was a terrible game. Thugsville from RM, followed by an undeserved red for Pepe. The ref was playing makeup for letting it get out of hand. Messi's 2 were shockingly Messi. footytube.com is my fav for replay action.

Lee, I asked H why he kept falling so much, and he said he was wanting them to call a foul. I said, who there are no refs at practice. He shrugged.

Here is another of Henry getting tackled HARD by his cousin. She tracks him down the field off the right side of the picture.

The female cousins will get you every time.

PS Henry Fredrick needs to upgrade his camera man.
