New Smallmouth Hunter!

Featured Replies

hey all! i am WIbassboy. im from the great state of Wisconsin, and i recently got addicted to smallmouths! i started chasing them specifically last year and caught a bunch of them. ive caught a few already this year two. just released a fat 19" pre-spawn fish today! now all i want to do is catch big smallies! are there anything you guys do to target the bigger fish specifically? locations? baits? any tips i can get would be great. also any suggestions on videos, books, ect. to learn how to catch more fish all the time. im still a little blury on what the fish do at certain times on the year and during certain water temps and weather conditions. any tips for a relatively new smallmouth hunter! also, what kind of gear do you guys rely on heavily for catching those bronzebacks?

p.s. i fish all kinds of lakes, rivers, and flowages. anywhere i can catch a smallmouth, i fish there!

Welcome.to BR. There are some great smallie fisherman here. Dwight Hottel and Road Warrior just to name a couple.
