What A Night

Featured Replies

Went fishing last night at a local pond around 10.

I was throwing a little 1/8 oz buzzbait on a MH Carbonlite with 6 pound Yo-Zuri that I usually do pretty well with at this place.

Fishing about 10' to 20' out parallel to the bank. No strikes for about 20 minutes then I finally moved spots.

Got to another spot and after about 10 casts I finally got a hit. BAM! Missed it.

Started casting a little further out and got another huge strike. Missed it. This thing was huge! Like Shamu was jumping out of the water.

I was pretty angry at that point because I usually do so well with this little buzzer, but not tonight.

Got my composure back and started casting it out there some more.

20 more casts and another strike. Missed her again. At that point I was done. Couldn't get a hook up and I was sick of trying.

I guess I'm not used to losing so many fish, let alone ones I know are big. The second could have been a new PB, but who knows.

I guess that's what keeps us coming back though. The thought of a new PB gets the heart pumping and the hands shaking.

Headed back out there tonight. Wish me luck!

The monsters always get away , that's what makes them monsters.

Good luck and either try a popper, sammy or devils horse! It is apparent they will bite the topwater, but try a different presentation!

Yeah, I would have last night, but it was just a spur of the moment trip.

I only had one rod and the lure that was tied on.

Just got back from another outing at the same pond.

Went 1 for 1 this time. She wasn't big (around 2 lbs.), but I'm not complaining.
