Xcalibur Rayburn Red Paint

Featured Replies

I am trying to copy Xcalibur's Rayburn Red crankbait color. I can get everything right except the shade of red. Has anyone successfully blended this color with water based acrylics, namely Creatix??? Thanks!

Renaud, two coats of createx transparent bright red over a white base will get you what you are looking for.

Thanks, Cliff. I tried that but it was still too pink. Had to go over it twice with dark transparent red to get it almost but still not quite right.

I am talking about two pretty good coats......

When you clearcoat it the red will darken.

The Excalibur 'Rayburn Red' actually looks like a burnt orange to me. I'd start with C-tex orange and go from there.
