Everyone talks about going tournament fishing. I know that I'm a little young and I don't even have my own boat, but some of my friends do and I would really like to enter some small tournaments. I was just wondering what the easiest way to find and enter them was.

Most people who run tournaments will leave flyers laying around at tackle shops near the lake or at marinas. Whenever you're at the ramp, just ask around, somebody will have the info you're looking for. Tournaments are easy to find.

i would try to join a local club, club tournaments are smaller and a very good place to start

In order to get into a club tournament, I wouldn't have to be sponsored or put up a large entry fee, correct?

A local club I'm thinking of joining has a $40 fee per tourny. $50 to join the club but thats it.

join a club. i knew hardly anything about bass fishing and never fished tournaments until i joined a club. do it for your own good. i learned so much also. now im one of the top members after only 3 years. i pay $35 a year to be in the club $40 for club touraments and $75-$100 for state tourneys(only fish 1 maybe 2 a year). most clubs fundraise to pay for tournaments. i only pay for my $35 dues and my tournaments are paid for by fundraising.
