Xf For Jig And Worm

Featured Replies

Thinking about getting a Shimano Crucial from Tackle Warehouse (The 6'10" MH XF). I would be buying it for fishing jigs and worms. In the past have always used a fast action for throwing t-rigged plastics as well as jigs. How well would an XF rod work for throwing jigs and worms?

If you're referring to the CRCX610MH, I have this rod. Shimano says it's good for:

spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, Texas rigs, jigs and Flukes

I love this rod and it is definitley up to those duties.

So the answer to your question is yes! :D

I had a Powell Max M/XF spinning for over a year for T-rigs and finesse jigs. Decided to go with a Dobyns Savvy M/F to replace it.

Long story short, I didn't like the Dobyns at all for bottom-contact baits, although it made a great spinnerbait rod. Returned the Dobyns, and ordered another Powell M/XF.

It's a personal preference thing though I guess. I'm too used to an XF tip for jigs and stuff.

The CRCX610MH is my spinner bait rod and the CRC70MH is my jig and worm rod. They are great rods and you will be happy with either rod.
