Has anyone used the laser lures? Any recomendations on if they would work from shore?

Any bait will work from shore, even Laser Lures.

agreed.......

i haven't thrown laser lures myself, but any lure will be productive from shore.

I was very skeptical at first and decided to give them a shot when Senko77 recommended them.  I did accidentally stumble on a HUGE school of jumping fish one day and threw a crankbait 20-30 times with only one hook-up that didn't make it to the boat.

Picked up a yellow perch laser lure and proceeded to catch them every other cast.  Now the other crankbait I was fishing was a chartruse color so it could of been the color.  However, these jumping fish turned out to be sand bass and they aren't the pickiest things in the world,

Also had a big bass break me off on the yellow perch laser.  Not quite ready to say they make a huge difference, but at worst they are a good crankbait.

never used them but watched them in a tank @ a show, wondered the same thing,if they work or is it hype.while watching them in the tank the laser isnt as profound (like when you tease your dog with the little dot) to me its just a "glow" from the front of the bait.still undecided about it.

my 2 cents, i own a couple of laser lures and did some research about red light and water, and fish before i bought them. im no expert so take this with a grain of salt. what i have concluded that in clear water the laser light, if it had an effect would max out at around 6-8ft. so you need the vibration/water displacement of the lure to bring the fish close enough for the laser to have effect. now as the water gets dingier, the radius that the laser would effect would decrease drastically. now if you add sunlight that decreases the lasers effect to about 1 foot, sorry dont think that laser light competes at all with the sun to be noticed. now that doesnt mean that the laser doest have another effect that we dont notice, it could, as there are properties about laser that differ than other forms of light that i am not educated about to discuss.

but i gotta think that they should have a noticeable effect for night time fishing in clear water, which hopefully someone will try cause i dont have the opportunity to.
