Tournament Lures

Featured Replies

When you are fishing a tournament, do you try everything until you find a producing lure or do you stick with a confidence bait until you find a pattern with it?

I go with what the conditions dictate and adjust from there.  I will always have a jig and tube tied on because they are confidence baits but they also produce pretty much anytime of the year.   but you have to take seasonal conditions into consideration as well as what stage the bass are in.   Most people dont have 10-12 rods to set up for a tournament, so I take my confidence baits, my search baits (lipless crank, buzzbait, crankbait) and then I leave a rod or two for a specific application I know I will work in the day.  May be a c-rig, drop-shot, swimbait, frog, etc and that way I have what I feel are my basis covered given the conditions Im fishing.
