Grassy Pond In Rindge,nh

Featured Replies

Anyone here have fished it? I'm thinking of giving it a shot? Any help would be appreciated as I'm looking to take my son out.

I don't think I've ever fished out that way, but keep us posted on what you think after you fish it. Give it a try, you may just find a real honey hole. Do me a favor, and try a Rage Craw on a keel-weighted hook. Those shallow grassy places are perfect for that rig. Just let it drift on down into the weeds, then rip it out with a little jerk, then swim it slowly, occasionally letting it flutter down. Bass kill that thing! Good luck, man. Hey me and you gotta get out again soon sometime. Shoot me a PM and we'll hook it up!

Supposed to be good fishing, but it's pretty busy in the summer.

No problem there, just go at 3 in the morning and you won't see another soul! Plus it's the best time to fish!

Hey Shane, do you use any specific type of keel-weighted hooks or does it not matter? I ask because I have a bunch but they are for soft plastic swimbaits and they have a large diameter and I wasn't sure if they would be the best for what you described. Also, do you throw that with spinning rods or a baitcaster?

stopped by there this afternoon for you UNH after picking up my daughter from daycare down the street. Looks good. There was a couple people trying to get their jet ski onto their trailer. That would have been annoying to fish around on such a small pond, but otherwise it looked nice. Plenty of room to park and turn around with the tracker. VERY shallow though.

I've been wanting to hit there myself since I moved out to Peterborough. I may hit it tomorrow, but I've been wanting to hit the smallies so I'm not sure. If I do, I'll let you know how it was.

nhbassin, I do use a specific hook, the Moaner Stroker keel weighted hook, 1/4oz (they have a twist lock on them, too, which makes rigging easy, and saves the baits). There are others that will get it done, too, but these are the best, and at the best price. My reel for this presentation is always a baitcaster, but I do have a friend that only uses spinning gear, and he catches fish on this rig with that, too. Hope that helps.

Thanks, Ill try those out and let you know how it goes.
